If you haven’t seen this series yet, then you are missing out on some of the funniest anime you’ll ever watch. Frankly, I love this series. I’ve seen all 3 previous series twice and enjoyed every minute of it. There has been some controversy due to how the show is animate each season. The first 3 seasons were animated by different studios and/or directors, each giving it their own style. Personally, I like every season and don’t get the complaint, but it can take some getting use to switching from style to style. This time around it is being produced by the studio Feel and directed by Kawaguchi Keiichirou. They recently did the OVA that was released in 2012 and it wasn’t a bad episode in my opinion, just a little odd in the way it skipped around. Overall, both the director and studio has made some recently fantastic anime like Mayo Chiki and Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai. The characters alone are enough to make it worth while. I love them all and they’re ridiculously funny in their own way. Hosaka is easily one of my all time favorite characters. As long as the writing remains good, I have a good feeling that this will be one of my favorite shows of the winter season.

Director Takashi Watanabe (Ikkitousen, Freezing) has a record of doing these type of ecchi shows and studio Artland (Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou!) isn’t exactly a studio whose name is praised for top-tier animation, so I’m expecting some average action with a bunch of blurry animation thrown in which, with more and more HD quality anime being created, is looking very ugly and bad on animators who are cutting corners. All the budget will go into the extraordinary chests of these young lady ninjas and there will be some kind of story that barely gives the girls reason to fight and look hot while doing it. AT-X will be broadcasting the show, and while there are ample reasons for nudity to pop up, I can’t be so sure that Senran Kagura will provide the satisfaction that ecchi fans look for in their ecchi anime. SK is originally a series of DS video games and the closest it gets to the line is blondie Katsuragi with her shirt open, and the trailer does not employ the services of sunbeam-chan or shadow-kun.

From the description alone, this seems to be pretty much standard harem fare. However, it’s being made by A-1 pictures, and the trailer has me looking forward to this. Again, maybe it’s because I’m a sucker for this kind of show, but I can certainly get behind it, and at only 13 episodes, it won’t be too much of an investment.

This is a 2-minute show, so if you blink you might miss key plot points for the entire series, like a dude shoving pencils in his nose. There’s plenty of 5-minute shows this season, but somehow this series seems like even more a waste of my time.

OK, I may have been a bit hard on Love Live, because this seems worse by far. It is Shoujo set in a samurai era with pretty boys. Just looking at what little I’ve seen of it makes me sick. Am I over reacting? Probably, but I can guarantee you this will not be on my “Watching” list. At least the theme song by Faylan might be nice…

This series looks so uninteresting to me… The designs are generic bishounens and the plot is about as basic as it can get. It is based off of a dating sim for women, so I am not too surprised about the content, but what peaked a slight bit of interest out of me was the fact that is being produced by Brain’s Base. Brain’s Base has easily become one of my favorite studios as of late producing some of the best anime from the last two years and beyond. So when they make a series I tend to take notice, but to be fair I haven’t liked everything they’ve done. At the very least I’ll give it a chance. Right now, nothing really excites me about the series so my expectations couldn’t be any lower. I get the feeling I’ll probably watch the first episode and never come back to it.

I’ve only seen 3 episodes of the original Zettai Karen Children series, and if you haven’t seen it, just go watch Index since that’s a better show about having abilities. And what I’m trying to do with this series Unlimited is not let my lack of enjoyment toward ZKC affect my view on this spinoff series featuring a character I never got to see. The trailer doesn’t look half bad with some nice action and some characters that could be interesting just gleaming from very quick appearances of them. For anyone that hasn’t seen the original series, I doubt there’ll be problems trying to keep up with plot details or a need to experience any amount of ZKC prior.

I am actually pretty excited about this anime. You might be able to tell from the style, but this series comes to us from Monkey Punch, the same creator of Lupin III! That combined with TMS, which recently brought us Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna, gets my blood boiling in anticipation. I really liked Mine Fujiko and it is easily one of my favorite from last year. This series doesn’t have much of the same staff though, so I am not expecting the same kind of nudity filled sexiness that was in Mine Fujiko, but I still hope there will be some style carried over from it. Also it has Nakai Kazuya voicing the main character, so it has all the right stuff to make it a hit.

    Happy New Year you guys

All I can say about this winter season is that it really do looks complete trash, too much otaku bait shows for me. There is only two new show(I’m not count the shows that an second season as new shows, as Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT) that following,in this season, now that I know Maoyuu will be garbage too. And the first show that I’m somewhat looking forward to is Sasami-san@Ganbaranai because it sounds like it will be blast to watch, not mention that Akiyuki Shinbo is directing the show and I just adore his work.

The second shows is Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru because I found that manga to be amusing, although with it being 1 cour, I fear that they’ll turn the story into another generic harem fare.

With that said I’ll watch each show given the slim chance that I might like one

    • This season might not be great, but it doesn’t need to be. There are at least 4 shows that I can see that I’ll like and/or at least watch… Minami-ke 4, Haganai 2, Roman, and Tamako Market and there are always at least 1 or 2 shows that surprise me. Only 6 anime I was watching last season ended, so if 6 shows turn out well, then I’ll be watching the same amount. There are still 10 ongoing shows I am watching, Bakuman, HxH, Ixion Saga, Magi, One Piece, Psycho-Pass, Robotics;Notes, Sakurasou, Space Bros, and Zetsuen no Tempest. This season has more than enough to last me through the winter.
