I really enjoyed the 1st season of OreImo, so it’s nice to know that there will be some closure on the series by adapting the rest of it. What was interesting about the first season was how it ended. On TV, we got an anime original ending, followed up by a four episode True End route that aired online in place of that final episode. Those four episodes were directly adapted from the novels, and lead in to the new season, so if you haven’t seen those and plan on checking out this second season, I suggest you get on it.

If you want to see some of the best voice actors in Japan do some of the craziest roles, look no further. I was a big fan of season 1 of this anime and there is nothing I can do but plead with you not to miss this series. It is off the wall fun with poop eating demons and fugly angels. It is hilarious and season 1 was one of the funniest shows to air in 2011. Each episode is only 12 minutes long so it wouldn’t take much to catch up and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

I’ve been a big fan of Urobuchi Gen’s (Fate/Zero, Psycho-Pass) works the past couple of years and he’s bringing some more writing to Production I.G. in the form of Gargantia. Elsewise known as Butcher Gen, his series are of a uniquely dark nature in that his themes are mature whilst not being heavily reliant upon gore and the like, and it’s why I’ve enjoyed his series as much as I have. They genuinely feel different to any other series I currently watch at the time… oh, and it’s not high-school crap. Gargantia seems like a visually different setting for a Butcher series due to it being much more vibrantly colored and also the appearance of a traditional anime mecha (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita).

#Synopsis
The action story is set in Edo-era Tokyo in the early 1700s. The eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune ordered boxes to be installed so commoners can submit their thoughts. After hearing their voices, the shogun creates a new magistrate unit—Mushibugyou—to protect the people in the heart of the city. Each member is a specialist with unique fighting skills.

I don’t think I should be hypercritical about this anime because I feel that it is targeted for pre-pubescent children. There seems to be a little bit of ecchi flavoring to it, but I doubt there will be anything too extreme. The animation also looks underwhelming. It looks epically generic and the action probably won’t be great. With all these shounen anime ending, you’d think they find something better to take their place. I doubt I’ll ever make it past episode 1.

I had a unique experience with the first season of this show. I completely ignored for most of its air time, and then shortly before the last episode aired, I watched it all in one sitting. Turns out, I was missing out because I really quite enjoyed it. That said, I’m ready for season 2 and Nyarlko’s brand of comedy, though I hope there’s a little bit more development in the romance department since we actually did get some in the first season, as little as it might have been.

#Synopsis
The comedy revolves around Sayuri Satou, the new front desk worker at the Sparrow’s Hotel—”the closest hotel to Heaven”. Her special features are her large breasts and her skills of assassination. She takes down people who cause trouble in the business hotel with those skills, but she is in fact very unskilled when talking to the male hotel manager, and often bites her tongue.

This is one of those 5 minute anime that are designed to sell more manga, a trend I don’t particularly like. I’ve only been able to get into one 5 minute anime, they are just too short. I don’t think I’ll be into it, but hey, I’ll at least waste 5 minutes on the first episode just in case there is something there.

I don’t know what really drove me to pick this show during the draft, other than the fact that the description just sounded utterly stupid and might be kind of funny. Reading more about this, it’s clear that this is a fantasy style show involving some time travel shenanigans and lots of dudes. So…I can already guess I’m not gonna like this too much.
