There have been a few changes to Anivision recently, if you haven’t noticed already. Unfortunately due to a high number of spam registers we have had to close user registration for visitors. Also we had to pretty much delete any user that wasn’t an admin because we had literally thousands of spam users clogging up our database. Having that many users and even more users created every day by spam was one reason that our server has been experiencing massive lag. To minimize that lag we had to remove all users. If you had an account, I am sorry to inform you that it is gone. Facebook connect is also gone for the same reason, but hopefully sometime in the future we will get either a Facebook or Twitter comment system so you can comment using your various accounts.
What does this mean for commenting?
Absolutely nothing! While your official account on Anivision might be gone, you can still comment. If you want you can register an account, an email, and an avatar at Gravatar.com, then as long as you comment using that email your avatar will show up. This is the standard for most blogs and if you always wondered why some commentors had avatars and some didn’t, this is why. I highly recommend you set up an account there if you haven’t already. It is a great way to personalize all your comments.
Another change that has happened is that we have a new Content Filter at the top of the page. If you click on that bright red circle you will be able to view all video content posts on Anivision! We are going to try and bring more videos to you every week. If you have a video you would like to share, please email us at AnivisionORG (at) gmail.com! We always enjoy visitors emailing us and we will check out the video right away.
Finally, we are still looking for a new person to help us blog. If you have ever thought about blogging for a website, then take a chance and blog here! We are pretty open minded and are interested in finding a new writer for Anivision. Whether it is anime impressions, reviews, news, videos, or an editorial blog, we are always interested in new content. Now that we have a video content filter we would love to find someone to post videos on a weekly basis. If this sounds intriguing to you or if you are looking for a new home to blog on, then email us at AnivisionORG (at) gmail.com!
Many thanks,
— The Anivision Staff
