This episode started off really strong. I was pulled into the emotions that Jin was feeling after watching Akemi getting eaten by a monster. Still though, I thought that Jin should’ve been a bit more pissed off after watching her get shot. Maybe he just didn’t have the energy left to do anything, but if I was Jin I would’ve ripped that guy’s head off. The action again was brief and it is starting to get me worried that all action scenes are going to be this way. Still, I am hoping that longer more epic fights are on the way. I do admit that I was trolled by Akemi’s death. I thought it was a bit too soon for her to die, but decided to not put it past a more mature series like Zetman to kill her off. I didn’t really feel that sad about her death though.. Maybe we just didn’t get to know her too much or just a simple lack of empathy. I felt more sad for Jin than I did for her death.
Personally, I thought the more interesting part of this episode lied with Amagi Kouga’s development. Everything is starting to come to light with who he is and why he does what he does. I love how naive his sense of justice is and how it looks like he is in it more for the attention than for the morality. It makes sense too because if he grew up with a less than affectionate Dad and a love for a children’s tv show, then his idea of justice would get perverted. Also, was it just me or was Kouga getting a little too intimate with his sister? I am getting a vibe that might turn his love for Konoha very creepy by the end of the anime.
